We are currently seeking volunteers for a variety of services in communities throughout Minnesota.

In light of COVID-19, we are working hard to shift our approach to best meet the needs of our Minnesota neighbors. Take a look below at the opportunities that can make the biggest impact at this time.

Northeast MN

Duluth area
Support families experiencing a crisis by providing a safe and temporary place for children age 12 and younger. Must be a licensed provider – child care, foster care or child care center.
Answer calls from parents requesting emergency child care for children age 12 and younger. Volunteers must pass a background check and have a smart phone.

Twin Cities

Wright County area
Support families experiencing a crisis by providing a safe and temporary place for children age 12 and younger. Must be a licensed provider – child care, foster care or child care center.
Wherever you are
Volunteers are needed to prepare dinner for youth staying at Safe House, an emergency shelter for homeless youth ages 16-20.
Minneapolis, MN
Make a difference in the lives of individuals with multiple barriers to employment and economic self-sufficiency.
Answer calls from parents requesting emergency child care for children age 12 and younger. Volunteers must pass a background check and have a smart phone.
Prepare food that is distributed for use at congregate feeding sites and schools.
Donate groceries and other items at our homeless youth shelters and transitional housing program for minor moms and their families.
Help eliminate racism as a VISTA member at Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS). Design a volunteer recruitment strategy inclusive of all Minnesotans, creating pathways for equity and generosity through volunteering.

Statewide

Various locations available
We are seeking volunteers to provide support to caregivers and older adult family members via the telephone or virtual means until it is safe to provide in-home respite due to COVID-19 concerns.
Various locations available
Volunteers within the AmeriCorps program receive a living allowance and education grant while supporting caregivers by virtual means until it is safe to resume in home meetings. Positions are available immediately!

Help us feed youth experiencing homelessness by bringing groceries to the Metro Homeless Youth drop-in center. A shopping list will be provided for volunteers.
Help Meals on Wheels with a variety of opportunities such as portioning hot food, assembling shelf-stable emergency meals and delivering these meals Monday - Friday.

We are seeking volunteers to provide companionship to older adults via the phone or virtual means until it is safe to resume in-home visiting. This program is open to all age groups and receives a monthly stipend.
