Journey Transitional Living

We believe all young people deserve an opportunity for success, regardless of their circumstances. Our Journey Transitional Living service offers support to youth ages 16 to 21 who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

Journey serves youth throughout the Brainerd Lakes area including the following counties

  • Aitkin
  • Cass
  • Crow Wing
  • Mille Lacs
  • Morrison
  • Todd
  • Wadena

How it Works

Youth can contact us of they are interested in participating in this program. Often young people are also referred to us through a county social worker, school personnel or other caring adults.

Youth participating in Journey live independently while working with an LSS youth worker to develop the skills to maintain housing on their own.

LSS works closely with youth for up to 18 months. During that time, youth develop strong independent living skills and become better prepared to make decisions that lead to safety and stability.
