Education & Training Voucher

The Minnesota Education and Training Voucher (ETV) program provides up to $5,000 a year to help students under the age of 26 who have aged out of foster care pay for college tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies and living expenses. This money does not need to be paid back.

The grant application process is completed through the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and grants are awarded by DHS.

Youth who are awarded an Education and Training Voucher from DHS receive fiscal management assistance and support from LSS. We provide fiscal management of ETV grants, approves purchases and provides the actual disbursement of the grant.

Although this service is offered in Willmar, Minnesota, it supports 120-150 students across the state each year.
