LSS Family Resource Center

Located in Virginia, Minn., the LSS Family Resource Center is committed to keeping children safe by providing services to children, youth and families experiencing conflict, crisis or major difficulties.
We emphasize the importance of responsible behavior in forming healthy relationships. We use a strengths-based approach to help youth overcome behavioral and environmental issues.
Who We Serve
The LSS Family Resource Center serves youth who are referred by social service providers, the court system, area law enforcement and probation. Our professional, trained staff provide support for youth who have experienced:
- Family conflict
- Parental neglect
- Running away
- Substance abuse
- Behavioral or mental health challenges
- Physical or sexual abuse
- Truancy or school challenges
Services
The Range Youth Shelter
A 10-bed, 24-hour shelter that offers emergency, short-term care to children and youth ages 0 – 17.
Runaway & Homeless Youth Program
Offers 24-hour safe shelter to youth 17 years and younger who have run away or are experiencing homelessness. Our purpose is to encourage and assist them in the resolution of problems, and to reunite youth with their families whenever possible.
Together for Youth
An inclusive, supportive and welcoming group for LGBTQ youth and allies ages 14 – 20. Through meetings, educational presentations, one-on-one support, and advocacy, our goal is to affirm the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and allied youth.
Supervised Visitation
Assists families who require supervision or monitoring during visits with their children. Learn more

Provides staff support for parents to exchange custody of their children without parental contact when there are potential conflicts and/or safety concerns.
