Affordable Housing Options in the Twin Cities

Lutheran Social Service of MN offers affordable housing options in the Minneapolis - St. Paul metropolitan area. These housing options have minimum and maximum income requirements and amount of rent paid is not based on income.

What is Affordable Housing?

When a household allocates no more than 30% of their annual income towards their rent or mortgage, that housing is deemed affordable for that family.

Subsidized Housing

Subsidized housing is a government program based on a household’s income for low-income households. The household pays no more than 30% of their income towards rent; the subsidized housing program contributes the remaining amount to cover the cost of rent.

LSS Housing Services also offers supportive housing services for families receiving rental subsidies.
