Support Homeless Tenants

How We Partner With You

Our housing specialists are experienced in partnering with property managers and tenants to support successful rental relationships.

Services We Provide

Please note: While case management/service coordination must be made available to all long-term homeless households, services cannot be required as a condition of tenancy.

Assistance Defining Tenant Selection Criteria

If requested, we will partner with you to define clear and consistent tenant selection criteria for your affordable housing units that:

  • Complies with MN Housing requirements and other applicable laws and regulations
  • Provides appropriate protection for you and your property

Family Support Services

Tenants must be offered support services. However, they are not obligated to receive services. It is incumbent upon the provider of support services to respectfully reach out and engage households. LSS has experience engaging households and providing support services that are appropriate to their needs and effectively support their housing stability goals.

Throughout their tenancy, a household’s need for support services will ebb and flow. Some families may need periods of intense services, while other households may be stable and intensive support may not be needed. If a household experiences a crisis, re-engagement with services will occur.

Issue Resolution Facilitation

LSS will work with tenants to help them understand their responsibilities and assist them to effectively resolve any issues. We serve as a neutral party that can be contacted by either the tenant or property management to help facilitate a positive resolution. While support services and property management are partners, our roles must be clear and separate. If an issue arises, property management needs to issue lease violations and talk to the household about tenancy issues.

There are many benefits to working with us. We can help you find new tenants, and you can help families find a safe place to live. For more information, please contact us.
