As a social ministry partner of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), we are proud to work with congregations across the state for this year’s “God’s Work. Our Hands.”

God's work. Our hands. Poster. Sept. 11 2022Each year the ELCA designates a day and encourages its member churches to serve their neighbor by completing a service project. If your congregation cannot participate on September 11, 2022, you may consider doing one of the LSS of MN service projects on another day!

Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.

How It Works

To get started, follow these steps:

  1. Decide if your congregation prefers to do your project on-site, at your church or from congregants homes, or off-site in the community.

  2. Identify the project you’d like to complete. Choose your region from the 2022 Service Projects list above to see the opportunities available in your community. Register for the project and get in touch with the listed contact person to sign up.

  3. Plan your day. Details about each project are available on the individual project pages. The contact person for your project can provide any additional project information. Unless otherwise noted, projects will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2022 or you may work with the contact person for your project to find a different date that works for your church.

  4. Get the word out to your congregation.
