Our Training and Education Center (TEC) at the Center for Changing Lives in Minneapolis offers free, individualized job support, career exploration and workshops on a wide range of topics for Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) participants*. Our trained career development facilitators can assist MFIP participants in securing a job with livable wages and building a career that meets their unique skills, interests and needs.

*We only support MFIP participants residing in Hennepin County. If you are not an MFIP participant or are a job seeker residing outside of Hennepin County, we are happy to connect you with the appropriate workforce development service provider in your area.

 

One-to-One Career Services

We offer free, individualized career support for MFIP participants to help them gain the confidence, tools and focus needed to get the job they want.  A career development facilitator can work with MFIP participants to:Person typing on a laptop outside a building

  • Tailor Their Resume: Target their resume to get the interview they want
  • Practice for an Interview: Complete a mock interview to receive honest feedback and encouragement
  • Explore Credentialed Trainings/Career Pathways: Find a training that fits their interests and can boost income for them and their family
  • Match Their Natural Skills to Career Opportunities: They can explore O*Net to learn how their skills and talents match with the fastest growing careers in the area
  • Boost Their Career Search with Social Media: Learn how to use LinkedIn to effectively network in their job search
