Mankato REACH Resource Center Support

The REACH is a gathering place in Mankato, for youth experiencing homelessness and at-risk youth. The resource center is open from 2-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and by appointment on Fridays. The REACH provides a safe place when youth have nowhere else to go. It is a place to talk to supportive social workers and counselors. Youth come to enjoy activities, get a meal, read books, use onsite computers and find educational materials. There is also a shower room onsite.

Volunteers at The REACH will have the opportunity to help ensure that our young people have safe, stable living situations and the opportunity to thrive and contribute. You will gain skills in youth development and case management assistance while making an impact on ending youth homelessness in the Mankato area.

You will assist youth to:

  • Find jobs
  • Enroll in school
  • Obtain financial and medical services
  • Locate temporary housing

You will also help staff with intake and documentation.

Duration: Flexible

Requirements
  • Be 25 years of age or older
  • Submit to a criminal background check
  • Volunteers at The REACH are required to attend a two hour training session prior to starting
