Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) is combining the reach of three regional services in Rochester in a new office. LSS Financial Counseling, Older Adults Services and Youth Services welcomes the community to join us for an open house celebration Wednesday, January 30 from 3 to 6 p.m. at our new office in the Metro Sales Building, 1610 NW 14th Street, Suite 300 in Rochester.

Collectively, LSS served more than 900 Rochester area residents over the past year. We have been working collaboratively among our many services over the past 18 months to develop new strategies to address community health priorities in greater Rochester.

Since opening our new Financial Counseling office in Rochester in 2017, we have worked with more than 400 families and individuals to increase financial literacy and to provide financial strategies on budgeting, repayment of credit card debt, student loans, and housing.

In the same year, LSS supported more than 170 older adults in the Rochester area through our Senior Companions, Community Companion and Neighbor to Neighbor Companion Services. These services support healthy, fulfilling and independent lives for the older adults we serve.

Through our Youth Services, called LINK, our staff worked with more than 270 young people in the last 12 months, ensuring safety, access to resources and connections to safe housing options for youth who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

The new office opens the possibility of adding other services to the Rochester area that serve the community remotely from the Twin Cities.

This Open House event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
