Tara Giese

Program Manager, Caregiver Support and Respite Program


Areas of expertise: Providing innovative, community-based services to meet the needs of family caregivers to keep them as healthy as possible so that they can continue to care for their loved ones; aging issues in rural communities; caregiver coaching, education and training; the benefits of individual and group respite care.

Education and Licensure: Masters in Social Work, University of North Dakota, 2001, Licensed Social Worker in North Dakota and Minnesota

Professional Experience: Located in the Moorhead office, Tara Giese is the Program Manager for the Caregiver Support and Respite Program, offered in 20 Minnesota counties. She has worked with the Caregiver Support and Respite Program for the past 18 years bringing innovative services for family caregivers across Minnesota. The goals of the program are to reduce caregiver burden, increase caregiver skill, competency and confidence and connect caregivers to support they need. A menu of services has been developed to meet these goals including caregiver consultation, coaching, in-home respite care, group respite care and education and training.
