Congregational Giving

Congregational Support

When your congregation partners with Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, you join a movement that amplifies your ministry impact upon communities and individuals across Minnesota. Your financial support allows LSS to carry out our mission of expressing the love of Christ to our neighbors across the state.

Congregational support in LSS Church Partnerships

Congregational Giving

Every year, nearly 900 Lutheran congregations as well as other faith communities provide financial support to LSS through a variety of ways:

Annual Benevolence Budget

Include a line item for LSS in your yearly benevolence budget to provide a strong foundation of annual support for LSS. LSS is your regional and state-wide mission partner, providing services and support to neighbors in all 87 counties of Minnesota.

Capital Appeals

Don’t pass up the opportunity you have to make a powerful impact by including mission support as part of your capital campaign. Many faith communities around the state are setting a wonderful example for their members about the importance of stewardship.

Congregational Foundation and Endowment

Congregations with foundations or endowments have the chance to direct some of those resources to LSS. Please let us know what information we can provide or if you wish to invite a formal proposal from LSS at congregations@lssmn.org.

Special Offerings

Consider dedicating one offering during the year to lift up your support for LSS services throughout the state. Use all or a portion of the day’s offering to supplement your budgeted support of LSS. Feel free to use any of our bulletin inserts to highlight LSS services.

In-Kind Donations

LSS services are always in need of supplies and in-kind contributions that support their work and help the people they serve. Refer to our donation wish lists for needed items.

Personal and Community Fundraisers

Holding a special event — such as an ice cream social, annual garage sale or golf or bowling tournament — is a great way to have fun while supporting vital services for individuals across the state. What you do is limited only to your imagination. Find out more.
