Central Minnesota Regional Navigator

Central Minnesota Regional Navigator

In Minnesota there are eight organizations that each host a Regional Navigator. Each of these is the main point of contact for sexually exploited youth and concerned agencies in an area of the state. The Regional Navigator system was launched as part of a statewide initiative called Safe Harbor following the passing of the Safe Harbor law in 2011, to support youth who have been sexually exploited so they can rebuild their lives.

LSS is the host of the Central Minnesota Regional Navigator. We serve the counties of Aitkin, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, Benton, Stearns, Sherburne and Wright. As a host we manage a 24/7 hotline and connect youth in these areas to housing, mental health, employment, basic needs, caring adults, legal services, advocacy, health care and other community resources.

We also provide training and presentations to community groups to help identify youth involved in sex trafficking and connect them to services they need. These include community meetings for youth services providers, with law enforcement and other professionals to foster education and collaboration.
