Gifford Family
Our Home & Family
We are Janet and Larry Gifford. We have a small hobby farm about 15 miles south of Brainerd in a quiet neighborhood easily accessible to Highway 371. Because we go to Brainerd several times a week, we can help you maintain your connections to services, friends, church and more. We currently support one other individual in our home.
The Reason We Open Our Home
We have been foster care providers since 2005. We enjoy getting to know the individuals that share our home and support them to live the most independent life possible. They truly become family.
Our Traditions
We always celebrate birthdays for the individuals we support. We invite their family, friends, co-workers or whomever they would like to attend the party, which usually includes games, food, singing and pictures. We encourage the individuals we support to connect with friends and family. In addition, we attend the Lakes Area Disability monthly gathering.
Our Faith & Values
We attend weekly service at Heritage Church in Baxter. We invite the individuals we support to attend with us. The church also has a variety of activities. We believe in prayer, mercy and grace. Encouragement and support are also important values to us.
Our Hobbies & Interests
Larry enjoys raising cattle and going to the area cattle sales. He attends Pioneer Days in Albany and other similar events. Many of the individuals we support have enjoyed attending these events with Larry. We work together on the yard and garden. We encourage the individuals we support to pursue their interests.
Welcome to Our Home!
Welcome to our home and family. We want you to craft your life in the direction you choose. We are here to support you — to help with your medical needs and facilitate the fun stuff. Come grow with us.
