Our Home & Family
Our beautiful home, located on a quiet road next to a private lake, is perfect for walking, rollerblading, bike riding or wildlife spotting. We have a large yard and in the spring we enjoy raising vegetable and flower gardens.
Our home’s open floorplan is unique and includes three living rooms. The third level, with two private bedrooms, kitchen area and a living room, is perfect for an individual who enjoys the comfort of a family home but
also likes space of their own. We share our home with two teacup poodles named Cricket and Izzy and a cat named Kitty.
The Reason We Open Our Home
Opening our doors and sharing our home with foster children has been a large part of our lives for 25 years. Now that our family is grown, my husband, Ken, and I feel it’s time to go a new direction and provide a loving home to an adult with disabilities.
Our Traditions
We take a couple family trips every year and would enjoy having a new person join our vacations. Movies are a big hit in our home; a few nights a week we all come together and watch a new one or pull out
an old favorite!
Our Faith & Values
Faith is an important piece to our family. We attend church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights during the school year.
We say a blessing and express thanks before each meal. Honesty and loyalty are the core of our family’s values.
Our Hobbies & Interests
We spend a lot of time at home enjoying country life. We stay active by playing yard games, swimming in the pool, jumping on the trampoline and exploring the lakes in our row boat.
We love books and go to the library regularly. Family connections are important and we have weekly movie nights and big dinners. We also enjoy having friends over and
hosting game nights.

We will take time to discover what makes them happy and integrate those interests into our everyday life. For example, we love to cook so we want to know their favorite foods and try new recipes together.
