This is a great resource for families! During a Family Circle Conference, a family comes together to celebrate their strengths, learn new approaches to bridging communication to improve relationships and create a family-focused plan.
Trained facilitators guide the family through a two-hour session to learn how to communicate in new ways and create a family-centered plan to address the safety, well-being and stability of the children.
Annual Kinship Family Caregiver Conference & Resource Fair
Our fall Kinship Family Caregiver Conference and Resource Fair is free and features informational speakers, specialized education and resources on financial needs, legal options, medical care and educational support.
More than a dozen representatives from government, nonprofit and private organizations who help with legal issues, mental health concerns, food support and health services are on-hand to meet with kinship caregivers.
Past presentations have included: Advocating for Your Child in School, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Kinship Legal Options and Your Child’s Physical Development.
Take advantage of free online learning opportunities that provide kinship caregivers with resources to better understand the kinship family experience, its challenges, and how to support the health and wellness of both caregivers and children.
Our Twin Cities support groups provide safe and empathetic spaces to be among people who identify and understand the challenges of kinship caregiving. It is also a great place to share resources.
