Nelson Family Eager to Open Their Home and Provide Care
We are sisters Tassa and Audrey Nelson, and we are happy to open our historic home in South Minneapolis to someone looking for stability and care. We have lived in the Ventura Village neighborhood for over 20 years. The house is close to many stores, a library, bus stops and the light rail.
Audrey is outdoorsy and enjoys sporting events, while Tassa likes spending time at home. We both enjoy reading, walking, exercising and spending time with family and friends. We would consider the individual we support as part of our family, and they would have access to all the communal spaces of the home, including a large fenced-in yard, porch and three seasons room. We each have a vehicle as well and can provide transportation for community activities and appointments.
We are happiest when everyone is safe, thriving and doing as well as they can be. It is important to us to be good people, help others, volunteer, and be good citizens. We like to spend our time doing things that are fun and life affirming.
Audrey works in a medical clinic, and Tassa has a background in human resources; we both have experience working in group homes. We can provide 24-hour care as we work opposite schedules. We are comfortable ensuring that a physician's orders are met, providing medication administration, and assisting with all activities of daily living. Our hope is to help somebody live their best life, and we are eager to open our home once again.
