Individualized Home Supports Wage Increases
In 2022, there was an increase to the Disability Waiver Rate System, including framework wage and inflation updates. This increase from Minnesota Department of Human Services required providers to use 80% of this new revenue to support worker compensation between January 1, 2022, and March 31, 2024.
As a provider of Individualized Home Supports with training (IHS), PICS chose to pass through 100% of the new revenue associated with this rate increase to support increases to workers’ wages, benefits, and applicable employer taxes. We wanted to administer this full percentage, as we value our participants, our workers and their families.
PICS has increased the hourly wage rate for new IHS Workers from $15.00 to $17.75. Respite hourly wage rates increased from $14.00 to a starting wage rate of $16.75. These wage increases for workers were provided in two phases, the first on January 2, 2022, and the second on July 3, 2022.
PICS base wages for new enrollments and their workers on-boarded for IHS without training is $17.75 and Respite $16.75.
Mileage reimbursement for approved workers was also increased, starting June 1, 2022, from $0.505/mile to $0.56/mile.
A longevity reward was paid out to workers for their years of service. This was a one-time payout of ranging between $75.00–$250.00. Workers received this one-time payment on September 27, 2022, which was grossed-up to cover the applicable taxes.
PICS will continue to observe workers’ wages to ensure competitive pay is being offered. We hope to continue to provide worker satisfaction so you can find and keep quality employees!
