Free Financial Health Education & Counseling Available to Le Sueur County Residents

Residents of Le Sueur County can access virtual financial wellness classes and one-on-one financial counseling sessions for free through a partnership with LSS Financial Counseling and Le Sueur County Department of Human Services.

“The pandemic has impacted all of us in one way or another,” said Julie Zachariason, senior program manager with LSS Financial Counseling. “This partnership is a response to the real and pressing need of area residents to successfully navigate their financial options.”

LSS Financial Counseling is a nonprofit that provides support without judgment and serves thousands of Minnesotans every year. Thanks to Le Sueur County, through its dedication of CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds, the organization is offering county residents two financial wellness community education events and one-on-one appointment sessions with a certified financial counselor. The virtual community workshop, Get a Financial Health Checkup, will focus on financial health and setting personal goals to reach one’s full potential.

Residents have access to financial counseling via telephone or video calls at no cost to them. They may receive multiple holistic appointments focused on financial wellness. Counseling may include cash flow planning, foreclosure or eviction prevention, resolving delinquent utilities, student loan counseling, credit report reviews and other relevant financial topics.
