With the Coronavirus, many of us are ordering food online, having food delivered or picked up curbside – especially older Minnesotans and others with underlying health conditions. Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota has been serving meals to seniors in communities across Minnesotan for almost 50 years! Recently, LSS introduced a Meals to Go shipped meal service that has been skyrocketing. Learn how LSS Meals to Go is serving the community from LSS Senior Director Kristin Schurrer.

Jodi Raidt is the statewide program manager for foster care with Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. In honor of Foster Care Awareness Month in May, Jodi discusses the reasons children are placed in foster care, the challenges children and youth in foster care face, the continued need for foster parents during Covid-19 and more.

An estimated 6,000 Minnesota youth on their own experience homelessness on any given night, according to Wilder Research.  These youth are less visible in our community, especially in rural Minnesota.  Kelly Wolf, wit LSS Metro Homeless Youth Services, discusses the important work being done to help these youth, as well as a first-ever live-streamed Benefit for Youth fundraiser on May 19.
