Volunteer Opportunities

LSS Meals volunteers packaging meals

We are currently seeking volunteers for a variety of services in communities throughout Minnesota.

In light of COVID-19, we are working hard to shift our approach to best meet the needs of our Minnesota neighbors. Take a look below at the opportunities that can make the biggest impact at this time.

We are also in need of items to support our programs. You can learn more about how to donate items to meet these needs on our in-kind opportunities page.

Twin Cities

Wherever you are
Volunteers are needed to prepare dinner for youth staying at Safe House, an emergency shelter for homeless youth ages 16-20.
Prepare food that is distributed for use at congregate feeding sites and schools.
Donate groceries and other items at our homeless youth shelters and transitional housing program for minor moms and their families.
Help eliminate racism as a VISTA member at Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS). Design a volunteer recruitment strategy inclusive of all Minnesotans, creating pathways for equity and generosity through volunteering.
