Portland House Wish List
Portland House is a community-based service offering an alternative to incarceration and prison prevention for males, ages 18 and older.
This Minneapolis residential service specializes in working with individuals to help them establish positive relationships in the community. This is achieved through self-analysis and group dynamics that support responsible choices, clear direction and clear goals. These processes intentionally use social learning theories to build healthy connections and motivation.
Household items needed:
- Forks and spoons, plates, bowls, cups, coffee mugs (no glass please)
- Blender
- Microwave in good working condition
- Bath towels, face clothes, hand towels
- bedding (sheets, pillowcases, comforters and blankets)
- NEW pillows
- Large rug for living room
- Runner rugs for hallways and entryways
- Any type of cleaning rags/towels
- Snow shovels
- office supplies (printer paper, résumé paper and pens)
Personal items needed:
- Men's hygiene products
- Hats, gloves and scarves
- Personal umbrellas
Recereation Needs:
- Board games with all the pieces (for adults and fathers to play with their children)
- Yard games, sidewalks chalk (for adults and fathers to play with their children)
- Treadmill in good working condition
- Weight room flooring or large rug for recreation room
- New couch cushions for recreation room
- Outdoor furniture and plants fro wellness space
- Charcoal and lighter fluid
- Tickets for recreation in groups of 4 or more (sport event, movie theater, gym or activity center)
- Tickets for father-focused events for dads and kids (please provide tickets for at least 2 adults and 1-3 kids)
- NEW reward prizes for men (examples: body was sets, gift cards, cologne/body spray, men's socks, flannels, hair supplies, shaving supplies)
