Legislative Advocacy 101 Training
Learn how to leverage a powerful tool for positive change! Community members, social workers and other social services providers are invited to attend this training all about the Minnesota state legislative process. Advocacy is one of the most powerful tools that we can leverage to bring more resources and opportunities to our communities and create change. If you’re interested in learning more about it, Legislative Advocacy 101 is an opportunity to further develop the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to successfully advocate on the issues you care about.
This training includes:
- A primer on how an idea becomes a law
- Tips for successful legislative meetings
- Using a racial equity lens in policy/advocacy
- Guest from the legislature
- Tour of the Capitol
- Nonpartisan Voter Engagement
Presenters: Erin Sutton (MSW, LGSW) and Lily Hijazi-Sacay from LSS MN as well as a guest presenter from the legislature.
