Advocacy Bootcamp - Continuing Education Workshop
Learn how to leverage a powerful tool for positive change! Community members, social workers and other social services providers are invited to attend this training all about the Minnesota state legislative process. Advocacy is one of the most powerful tools that we can leverage to bring more resources and opportunities to our communities and create change. If you’re interested in learning more about it, Advocacy Bootcamp is an opportunity to further develop the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to successfully advocate on the issues you care about. Advocacy Bootcamp includes:
- A primer on how an idea becomes a law
- Tips for successful legislative meetings
- Using a racial equity lens in policy/advocacy
- Guest from the legislature
- Virtual tour
- 3 CEUs for social workers
Presenters: Erin Sutton (MSW, LGSW), Jeru Gobeze (LGSW), and Paul Slack (M.Div) from Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, as well as a guest presenter from the legislature.
Register for one of the two virtual trainings this winter through this Eventbrite page. The training will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
Tickets: Regular - $60 | Student - $30
We want to make sure this training is accessible to all, so please email firstname.lastname@example.org to work out a "pay what you can" option if ticket prices are a barrier.
