Sara Larson

Sara Larson, Food Service Co-Director at Camp Knutson, grew up in the Brainerd Lakes Area. When she was just 14 years old, she started in the Camp K kitchen as her mother Pat True’s assistant cook. In her late teens and early 20’s, she spent several years as summer program staff. She joined her mother again in the Camp K kitchen in 2005 when they shared the role of lead cook. Now Food Service Co-Director, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve at Camp Knutson and to work alongside her mother for so many years.

Sara has a background in early childhood education. She loves baking and runs a home-based business called Sweets by Sara Jane. She loves being creative, cooking new foods, babysitting, and decorating and is very active in her church. She and her husband, Eric, have two children and live in Brainerd, Minnesota.

“I love the mission of Camp Knutson and the variety of populations we serve throughout the year,” Sara says. “I love the relationships my mother and I have developed over the years with staff, campers, retreat guest and everyone who comes through our doors. I also love that my job allows me to have freedom to express my creativity with my daily work. And, it is a great joy to have the opportunity to work directly alongside my mom.”
