    • “Left Out” for a Good Cause

    • Tuesdays Together at the CFCL
Taking the time to share a meal together can really strengthen a community. At the Center for Changing Lives in Minneapolis, Tuesdays Together provides that opportunity. The second Tuesday of every month kitchen at CFCL is buzzing with activity. Every Tuesdays Together evening includes a meal that has been provided, prepared and served by a volunteer congregation, community or corporate group. Volunteers design the menu, recruit cooks, food- prep volunteers, and servers.
    • Everyone has Something to Bring to the Table
Denise first volunteered with the Metro Homeless Youth Program (MHYP) leading a cooking class and spending time with the youth. Denise was moved by the gratitude and openness of the youth and soon she was "hooked.”

Impressed by the life goals the youth had for themselves, despite all of the challenges they had experienced, Denise knew she wanted to do whatever she could to help. The youth were interested in developing was interview skills, so she contacted a hiring manager to do "mock interviews."

Everyone has something to bring to the table. According to Denise, “simply get involved and you will find out...”
    • Having fun while supporting the community!
For a group of Target employees, a night of bonding in the kitchen was able to make youth in their community feel cared about, while also being fun!

    • Touching Lives
“I chose LSS Crisis Nursery as my internship site because I thought it would give me a good foundation for working with families in need of help,” said Jeff.
