Refugee and Employment Programs
Population Served: Newly-arrived refugee families
Type
of Opportunity: Assist refugees in resettling in
their new home by delivering donations.
Opportunity Description: In most cases, refugee
families arrive with very little. Volunteers work to collect
donated items to furnish homes and provide items for personal
use. There is always a need for help in transporting donations
to the families, especially larger furniture items. This
includes:
- Providing a pick-up truck or
similar vehicle
- Loading up a vehicle with
collected items
- Driving items to refugees'
homes and unloading them
- Even if you don't have a
large vehicle, we have smaller-sized items and additional
strong backs are always needed!
Time
Commitment:
A Move-It! Team Member
signs up to be on-call. When the need arises, we will see if
you are available. This position is flexible, depending on
needs of clients and availability of volunteer.
