St. Cloud Area Crisis Nursery
Population Served: The St. Cloud Area Crisis
Nursery serves all families with children between the ages of
0-12 living in Stearns and Benton Counties.
Type
of Opportunity: The St. Cloud Area needs individual
volunteers to work with families experiencing a crisis.
Opportunity Description: As a volunteer you would
have the opportunity to work with families experiencing a
crisis. The family advocate would be responsible for answering
the crisis cell phone at their home between the hours of
5:00pm - 8:00am Monday through Thursday and from 5:00pm
Fridays through Mondays at 8:00am. The family advocate would
need to be a patient, sensitive person willing to work in a
stressful situation from time to time. The advocate may have
to place children in a licensed provider's home for up to 72
hours to give a parent a break.
Time
Commitment:
The volunteer
experience with crisis nursery is an ongoing assignment but
you may only be able to volunteer 1 or 2 days a month. The
volunteer creates his or her own availability.
