R.P.M. Team - LSS Refugee and Employment Programs
(Refugee People Movers)

Population Served: Newly-arrived refugees

Type of Opportunity: Assist refugees in arranging and getting to necessary appointments in their resettlement process.

Opportunity Description: In the first month of the resettlement process, refugees must attend multiple appointments. Many times, transportation to these appointments is very difficult. R.P.M. Team Members provide reliable, safe, transportation to needed appointments such as:

  • Driving to government offices, including public assistance, social security offices, and Immigration and Naturalization services
  • Driving to medical appointments
  • Driving to local schools for registration
  • Driving to grocery stores, churches, Mosques, schools, or job interviews

Time Commitment:  R.P.M. drivers provide a list of their availability. Commitments may vary and may be extended. This position is flexible, depending on needs of clients and availability of volunteer.
