Matching Grant Class Instructor - LSS Refugee and Employment Programs

Population Served: Newly arrived refugees

Type of Opportunity: Assist newly arrived refugees in identifying their job skills and in preparing to look for work.

Opportunity Description:  The goal of this class is to help refugees learn how to look for work in the United States, how to present themselves and how to keep a job. The class will cover:

  • Learning how to read a classified ad
  • Social and professional norms in a working environment
  • How to put together a resume
  • How to conduct oneself in an interview

Time Commitment: The class occurs two weeks out of a month for four sessions (Monday, Wednesday, Monday, Wednesday). The classes run from 1-5pm.
