Friendly Visitor - LSS Guardianship

Population Served: Vulnerable Individuals
Type
of Opportunity: Volunteers visit people in nursing
homes, customized living or individual home settings. Volunteers
with open hearts and willing hands can provide the friendship
and support needed to enrich lives.
Opportunity Description: Willingness to spend time,
30 minutes or more, on a monthly basis with assigned
individual(s). A basic understanding of issues surrounding
vulnerable adults and ability to maintain simple records of
visits. Ability to run an errand, complete a task, or hold a
hand. Volunteers use their eyes and ears to provide another
important service- reporting on the physical, emotional, and
mental status of clients to the Guardianship Program staff.
Training Provided.
Time
Commitment: Thirty minutes or more per month with
each assigned individual.
