LSS Bethany Crisis Nursery

of Opportunity: Individuals to answer Bethany
Crisis Nursery's crisis line during non-office hours Monday-
Friday, 5-10 p.m., to help maintain 24 hour crisis line
response for parents of children ages 0-12 years of age.
Opportunity Description: Trained advocates carry
and answer cellular phones for hours assigned. The advocates
handle the calls appropriately as discussed in the training,
provide encouragement, validation and support for parents,
complete paperwork, placement arrangements and transportation
as necessary. Desired skills: Understanding of multicultural
and diverse family backgrounds, sensitivity to needs of
families, parents and children, experiencing stress and
crisis, knowledge of basic crisis intervention for phone
screenings and one-to-one interactions, ability to provide
transportation for children as needed. Valid driver license,
good driving record. Background check required. Some lifting,
driving, walking. Orientation and on-going training provided.
Stipend and mileage
reimbursement available.
Time
Commitment:
A one-year commitment
as an On-Call Advocate preferred. Three initial training
sessions, a bi-monthly advocate meeting provides on-going
training, a minimum of three shifts per month.
