Refugee Services
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota’s (LSS) vision is that all people will live and work in community with dignity, safety, and hope. As an affiliate of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), our desire is to welcome newcomers to Minnesota from around the world.
Lutheran Social Service: Refugee Services assists federally approved refugees from various countries as they reunite with family members already living in Minnesota. We provide initial services to refugees, helping them to become self-sufficient in their new country.
LSS Refugee Services offers hope and a helping hand to refugees as they start their new lives in Minnesota. At this time, all refugees coming to Minnesota from abroad must already have a close relative residing in Minnesota. While refugees have some family support already in place upon their arrival, most need further assistance. Through our different services, and with the help of volunteers and others in our community, LSS Refugee Services strives to address the needs of all refugees and walk beside them as they start their new lives in the United States.
LSS serves all people regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability or age. Our vision is that all people will live and work in community with dignity, safety and hope.
