LSS Refugee and Employment Services:

In-Kind Donations

LSS Refugee Services needs your help!

Welcome Boxes – Upon arrival, each family member receives a Welcome Box, along with a quilt. A Welcome Box holds a few necessary hygiene and other items that a refugee will need when settling into a new apartment. Get a group together and make a day of it, putting together boxes that tell our clients that someone cares.

School Supplies – Most refugees arrive with virtually nothing. It is important to get their children enrolled in school as soon as possible, and what better way to be involved than to put together a great backpack for them? Please see our School Supplies list for guidance in what a child needs for their first day of school

Refugee Resettlement Kits – Once a refugee has arrived, they usually stay with a family member until they are ready to move into their own apartment. LSS gather items that one would need in order to set up a decent living environment. Please see our suggested ideas for donations to help make a newcomer’s first home more comfortable!

Donation Guidelines – If you just have a few items lying around the house and would like to donate them to LSS, please take a look at this list to see what we can use. Thank you for thinking of us!
