Refugee & Employment Services
The mission of the Refugee & Employment
Services division of Lutheran Social Service is to help refugees and
Minnesota residents become self sufficient. Our Refugee Programs assists
federally approved refugees from various countries come to Minnesota in
order to be reunited with family members. We ensure that their basic needs
are met (food, shelter, clothing), and provide initial services that will
help them become self-sufficient in their new county.
This division also helps people on public
assistance, U.S born citizens as well as refugees. We work to assist our
clients in finding employment by providing job training and placement in
addition to post-placement services. Our office seeks to develop and
maintain relationships with local employers looking to hire.
There are also a variety of volunteering
opportunities within Refugee & Employment Services.
