Responding to Hurricane Katrina

While LSS is not playing a major, front-line role in responding to the physical and human losses resulting from Hurricane Katrina, there are "LSS people" who are engaged in the recovery efforts.  Click here to learn more!

Red Lake: Nine months later

Immediately following the horrific shootings at the Red Lake School in April, 2005, the LSS disaster team, area churches, donors and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans joined together to respond to the tragedy. It was too early to know how best to help, but the desire to lend a hand was instantaneous.  Click here to read more!

Donors' gifts equal safe, supportive places to live

LSS' individual and anonymous donors who, in one way or another, show they care, especially bless thousands of people who are assisted by Lutheran Social Service each year. This is particularly true today when government has cut back on spending for human services.  Click here to find out more!

Donors' Corner

Changing Lives is happy to include the stories of a few of LSS' many donors who have been recognized recently for their contributions to the community as well as to LSS. Click here to learn more!

After working as an IT professional, Scott was laid off. He found another job and was laid off again. Then it happened again.  Click here to read more!
