Roberta Anderson Offers a Warm Touch

Roberta Anderson comes into the Baxter office with a smile on her face, ready and willing to help us serve low-income families who need energy assistance, especially during the coldest months. She helps the staff stay on track with computer data entry, working directly with families by phone and welcoming walk-ins facing immediate need.

As a senior with many years of work and life experience, she brings invaluable assets to our program, and serves with compassion and readiness to advocate for those who face desperate circumstances in their lives.

While people in the Brainerd Lakes area benefit from her volunteerism, Roberta readily admits that she receives, too. She epitomizes the real spirit of volunteerism a desire to stay active and involved; a need to help others and give back to the community; to stay connected with people, and a willingness to do so with no expectation of anything in return.

With her support, Lutheran Social Service reached more families in need of energy assistance in Crow Wing County on many freezing nights this past winter. As we seek to change lives through Lutheran Social Service, volunteers are right there with us leading the way.
