Foundation Board Invites Broader Financial Support for LSS

The Board of Trustees of the LSS of Minnesota Foundation met in St. Paul, May 13. The Foundation Board's mission is to raise money for Lutheran Social Service, both in the form of current gifts as well as estate plan gifts.

Verne Weiss, a Foundation Board member, said: "When we invite people to get to know LSS, and we invite them to provide their financial support of this institution, we help them fulfill their passion for making the world a better place." Board members ask others to enter into a conversation about how they would like to make a difference.

The board also oversees the LSS Foundation, which holds assets with a fair market value of nearly $2.5 million.

According to Jodi Harpstead, LSS' Chief Advancement Officer: "As Lutheran Social Service aims to have a more visible and far-reaching role in meeting the needs of Minnesotans, this board will play a crucial role in helping our institution get to that next level of service. Committed volunteers make all of the difference in sharing the story widely about LSS' mission and asking people to support that mission."
