What the Changing Lives
Readers Told
Us
The December issue of Changing
Lives contained a questionnaire that asked readers a number of questions
relative to this publication and its content. We wanted to learn what we
were doing correctly, and what parts of our publication we should consider
changing. We heard from over 200 readers, and their input will be used as
we go forward in our planning and publishing. Here's what we learned.
-
Readers are in general
agreement that Changing Lives keeps them in touch with the work of LSS.
-
They also agree, generally,
that the number of times we publish each year is "just about right."
-
The great majority of readers
told us that the design and photography made the newsletter easy to read
and use.
-
They prefer to read
human-interest stories of people who have made positive changes in their
lives, or creative ways that churches and individuals work with LSS.
-
The vast majority of readers
informed us that they would not "read" this publication if it were
published on the Internet; they want us to continue sending it in the U.S.
mail.
-
A few readers felt the
publication looked "too glossy, too expensive."
-
We found out that our readers
are 30 percent men, and 70 percent women. Over half the readers were over
age 60.
Surveys such as this one help
us stay in touch with our readers. The results guide the content and style
of our publications. It is our readers'' publication as much as it is LSS.'
So, thanks very much for your taking the time to answer our questionnaire.
