LSS Transitions – Brain Injury Services
LSS knows that the best progress in recovery can be made during the first two years following a brain injury. LSS Transitions - Brain Injury Services is unique in that the residences and specially-trained staff are entirely focused on helping people with brain injuries. LSS provides a therapeutic approach to help people recover, restore cognitive and motor skills, rehabilitate, and return to the community.
LSS Transitions can provide:
Medical Care and Support
- Holistic approach to healing and recovery
- Individualized care plan that focuses on the person throughout the changing phases of their recovery.
Cognitive Development
- Basic living skills training and education
- Communication skills training and education
- Vocational training and support
Psychological and Social Development
- Individual counseling
- Individual and family education and adjustment therapy
- Social activities in the community
The LSS Transitions Services Team:
- Brain Injury Support Specialists are direct care professionals that have been trained in the cognitive, psychological and social consequences of brain injury. They understand behavioral approaches for managing challenging behaviors and promoting a positive lifestyle.
- Key staff are trained/certified through the American Academy for the Certification of Brain Injury Specialists
- Nursing services
- Full-time supervisor
- Staff support 24 hours per day/7 days per week
- Vocational Specialist
LSS Transitions homes provide private rooms and baths. Each home has adaptive equipment to fit the needs of the people that live there. Handicap accessible transportation is available for all transportation needs.
