LSS Adoption Services
Adoption services for U.S. born, international and special needs children. Post-adoption services and pregnancy counseling also available. For Information: 507/625-7660 ext 247

LSS Crisis Nursery
The Crisis Nursery is an emergency childcare service for children from infancy to 12 years of age. Parents can arrange for emergency care for up to 72 hours, including overnight. Emergency situations include a parent’s overwhelming stress, sudden illness, housing problems, divorce or separation, or financial strains. A child is placed in a licensed daycare or foster home in providing a safe and nurturing environment. Info: 507/995-9259

LSS Financial Counseling Service
Helps individuals and families sort through the maze of credit and debt problems to find workable solutions. Includes budget counseling, a debt management program, housing counseling and community education programs. In-person, over the phone or Internet counseling. LSS Counseling and Family Resources
Counseling for individuals, families, couples and groups. Consultation and special services also available. Insurance or sliding-fee scale. For Information: 507/625-7660

LSS Family-Based Services
Professional family based treatment services are intensive mental health services provided to children at risk of, in, or returning from out-of-home placement due to an emotional disturbance. Services must be designed to meet the specific mental health needs of the child and family, and must be provided by a team consisting of a mental health professional with other family/child mental health and human service providers. LSS Guardianship Options
As court appointed guardian/conservator, LSS is a substitute decision maker and is charged with making decisions that are in the best interest of the health, safety, well being and material/financial interest of vulnerable, incapacitated and/or incompetent individuals. LSS also offers Power of Attorney, Care Coordination and Personal Representation of Estate services. For Information: 507/625-6693

LSS LifeWorks Employee Resource
LSS contracts with employers statewide to provide cost-competitive, high quality, employee assistance programs. Organizational development, wellness programs and critical incident services are also available. For information: 888/988-0098

LSS On My Own
Youth, ages 16-21 attend sessions to attain information, skills in career/educational development, budgeting, housing, legal issues, daily living skills, transportation, interpersonal communication, community resources, sexuality, recreation, health care, and individual goal plans. Retreats offer opportunities for growth and cohesion. For Information: 507/625-7660

LSS Senior Companion/Foster Grandparent Programs
Volunteers are provided with financial reimbursement for transportation, meals and other expenses. Seniors, 60 years and older, who volunteer to provide one-on-one support and visitation to homebound elderly at risk of nursing home placement and one-on-one support and mentoring to special needs children in a variety of residential and school settings. LSS Senior Nutrition
Senior Dining and Meals on Wheels is a joint partnership of your community and Lutheran Social Service to provide nutritious meals and much needed social contact for individuals 60 or older. Its focus is to keep seniors healthy, active and living independent lives. For information: 218/233-7521

LSS Treatment Foster Care
This program offers professional foster care services with specially trained families who provide a supportive and therapeutic environment for the child in placement. LSS staff provides therapeutic support to the foster family and the biological family with the goal of the child returning home. For Information: 507/625-7660
