Independent Living Skills for Youth
Our independent living skills programs serve young people that are 16-20 years of
age and are willing to take a risk on making the most of their lives!
The mission of our independent living skills programs is to provide a means of
intervening in the lives of youth before they become dependent on social services or
government assistance programs.
This is accomplished by helping young people develop self-esteem, basic survival skills,
social and leadership skills, and community and peer support networks. We also provide
guidance for their employment and educational choices.
In our program, we help young people develop the goals they want to achieve in their life,
and we stress that achieving these life goals is up to each individual. Through our
programs, long-lasting friendships are nurtured as young people learn skills to help
launch them into the job market and successfully on their own.
