Housing/Shelters

For Children & Youth
	Crisis Nurseries Available in Cloquet, Duluth, St. Cloud and Red Wing, offering temporary care for children when parents face a crisis or need a break.
	Crisis Shelters Nine LSS Crisis Shelters provide for children in crisis by offering short-term, emergency shelter care. Emergency foster-care homes are also available for children in need of a family setting. Individual counseling available as needed.
	Group Homes LSS group homes for youth assist troubled teens who are unable to live with their parents. Group homes emphasize skills for conflict resolution and problem solving, involve the family plus stress social and independent living skills.
For Adults & Families
	Crisis Nurseries Available in Cloquet, Duluth, St. Cloud and Red Wing, offering temporary care for children when parents face a crisis or need a break.
	Crisis Shelters Nine LSS Crisis Shelters provide for children in crisis by offering short-term, emergency shelter care. Emergency foster-care homes are also available for children in need of a family setting. Individual counseling available as needed.
	Energy Assistance In the Brainerd area, LSS operates the Low Income Heat and Energy Assistance Program, a service that helps low income people with heat and energy expenses.
	Housing Services Finding affordable homes and apartments is the ongoing work of Housing Services personnel. They keep an extensive roster of landlords to use as referral. Plus, the staff train people in tenant/landlord relations, all with the design of having people avoid homelessness. We also operate transitional housing for people who are leaving shelters and need temporary accommodations.
For Seniors
	Customized Living Services LSS Customized Living Services offer ways for seniors in Minnesota to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible. Our services bridge the gap between independent living and nursing homes, particularly for people who are not able to live by themselves but do not require constant care from others.
For People with Disabilities
	Residential, In-Home, and Respite Care People with developmental and physical disabilities are among the most vulnerable Minnesotans. LSS offers a wide variety of services, including residential living services, care and support for people in their own homes, and respite services for primary caregivers.
