Services for Housing Developers

ApartmentsWe partner with housing developers in the Greater Twin Cities area to ensure success with tenants that have previously experienced long-term homelessness. Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) is a leader in providing support services to households experiencing long-term homelessness and is an approved provider of housing support services by MN Housing.

An estimated 4,900 households in Minnesota experience long-term homelessness each year, including 800 children. To respond to this need, MN Housing gives priority to new housing developments that include units specifically targeting long-term homeless tenants.

To qualify, housing developers must make case management and support services available to tenants. For every four units of affordable housing, MN Housing recommends offering tenants eight hours per week of support services.

LSS Housing Compliance Services

Maintaining compliance with MN Housing supportive services requirements can be overwhelming for property managers not familiar with the process. When you work with LSS, we take the lead on data entry into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), partner with you to maintain records, submit reports and ensure your good standing with MN Housing.

LSS Family Support and Case Management Services

We have housing specialists on staff that work with families and housing developers to help ensure successful landlord/tenants relations, rental payments for property owners, housing stability for families and an end to the cycle of homelessness for families.

Support Homeless Tenants

We can help you define tenant criteria selection, offer support services and resolve concerns that might arise.
