GetLifted for Organizations

GetLifted Balloon

All organizations that operate in or serve a population from the North Side of Minneapolis or the East Side of St. Paul are encouraged to apply for GetLifted.

Organizations accepted for this initiative (Launch Organizations) will need to identify three individuals - one staff member and two other individuals from the community - as Community Financial Ambassadors (CFAs).  CFAs may include organizational volunteers, clients, or other individuals. A total of 14 Launch Organizations will be selected.

Commitment and Timeline

GetLifted begins with the application process that will run June 19th through July 21st of 2017, and will conclude with an awards event and celebration in August of 2018.


Launch Organizations are expected to provide support to their CFAs throughout the timeline. They will support their CFAs to ensure success by:

  • Providing or assisting with event spaces, catering and logistics
  • Assisting in actively promoting CFA projects to their networks
  • Providing a 1-2 page learnings summary of their CFAs work and its impact on the community they served, including best practices and attendance goals and results

August 1, 2017 Launch Organizations will be selected
August 30, 2017 Deadlines for Launch Organizations to submit CFA nominations
September 2017 Financial Education Training (Dates TBD)
October 2017 – July 2018 Launch Organizations will support their CFAs as events take place.
August 2018 Awards event & celebration (Date TBD)


Benefits of being a Launch Organization

  • $5,000 grant for your commitment to increasing financial wellness and equity in your community*

  • An opportunity to influence positive change in your neighborhood
  • A way to gain additional financial capability skills

*Organizations will be paid $2,500 at the time of CFA selection and $2,500 after final program event in August of 2018.

Application Process

  • Applications will be accepted from June 19 – July 21 2017.
  • The GetLifted committee will meet in late July to select Launch Organizations.
  • All organizations will be notified of their status by August 1, 2017.
  • Launch Organizations will be selected based on their application only.
  • CFAs selected by Launch Organizations do not need to fill out the individual application.
