Career Exploration & Personal Development

It's time to focus on you. The job "for now" can only take you so far.

Invest in yourself. Make goals. Take action. Realize success.

Take steps to achieve financial wellness through your career goals.

Explore your career options, work on your personal development, self-presentation skills, and the foundations of the job search process.

The Career Exploration and Personal Development program at the Eastside Financial Center uses an integrated services approach to holistically support your career and financial goals.

  • Work one-on-one with an employment counselor towards your career goals
  • Work one-on-one with a financial counselor towards your financial goals
  • Get screened for public benefits programs to reduce expenses during your period of transition

Consider and utilize other financial services as needed such as banking and financial products.

One-on-One Coaching

Think of your employment and financial counselors as your guides during the job search process and towards strengthening your finances. Working with your counselors to help you get where you want to go with an action plan, guidance, and tools. Takes steps such as attending job fairs, creating customized job search materials, and receiving information on financial information and products. Through the process, your counselors will meet you at the stage where you are.

Coaching does not stop once you have reached a goal. You can continue to work with your coaches on:

  • employment transition concerns (such as transportation or childcare)
  • additional employment or financial topics
  • developing career advancement plans

Career Exploration

It's time to invest in yourself!

Take the time to explore careers you are interested in, what they entail, and what kinds of requirements are needed (education, credentials, etc.)

Assess your skills and see what careers are a good fit for your skills and experience. Get closer to finding the career you were meant to do.

Personal Development

Be the best you that you can be.

Set goals for yourself and think about the steps you need to take to achieve your goals.

Work on self-presentation skills. Talking about yourself does not come naturally to everyone. Develop ways to share about information yourself with others that may help you develop personally and professionally.
