A therapeutic, week-long day camp that offers emotional and spiritual recovery
for children and a break for parents
When a flood hits a community, children need special attention.
Camp Noah offers a time for children to have fun, share their own experiences and receive special support just for them. Meanwhile,
parents take a needed break to care of themselves - to grieve, to work on recovery, or simply relax.
Camp Noah offers a week of:
-
Songs, games, crafts and fun activities
-
Sharing and stories
-
Caring, professional counselors to help them

The curriculum for Camp Noah is based upon the Old Testament story of Noah
and the flood, inviting children to process their own experience and compare
their stories with Noah's disaster experience:
-
Day 1: Preparation - Noah Builds the Ark
-
Day 2: Evacuation - Noah, Family and Animals Board the Ark
-
Day 3: Temporary Housing - Life in the Ark
-
Day 4: Signs of New Life - The Dove Returns with a Sign of Life
-
Day 5: Hope for the Future - God Gives the Promise of the Rainbow
Camp Noah is a program of Lutheran Disaster Response, created by
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, that has helped thousands of children in flood disaster areas nationally, and in Puerto Rico.
Guided by trained staff, children and their families gain support by
discovering that their peers share similar feelings and fears and, that through Christ, there is strength and hope for the future.
