LSS Financial Counseling Service
is proud to have been approved by the Executive Office of
the United States Trustee (EOUST) to provide Pre-filing
Bankruptcy Counseling and Pre-discharge Bankruptcy Education.**

LSS Financial Counseling Service Pre-Filing Bankruptcy
Counseling
LSS Financial Counseling Service (LSS/FCS) is an
approved provider of pre-filing bankruptcy counseling for
residents of Minnesota or Wisconsin only. This counseling is
required within 180 days before filing for bankruptcy
protection. The counseling and the subsequent certificate
can be received online, over the phone or in our offices in
Minneapolis, St. Paul, Hopkins, Duluth, Mankato, Willmar,
Brainerd and Superior, Wisconsin. There is a fee of $75
per appointment for this service. If you are a married
couple, and both are filing, you must both receive
counseling. Services are available for free based on a client's ability to pay, under the following circumstances: 1) if your attorney is filing pro bono; or 2)
the majority of your income is from disability, and your
family income is no more than 200% of Federal Poverty Level.
In either case, documentation MUST be provided verifying
these criteria in order for the fee to be waived.*

LSS Financial Counseling
Service Pre-Discharge Bankruptcy Education
LSS Financial Counseling Service (LSS/FCS) is an
approved provider of pre-discharge bankruptcy education nationwide (except Alabama, North Carolina and Oregon). This education class is
required after filing for bankruptcy protection and before a
bankruptcy case is discharged. The class and the subsequent
certificate can be received online or at our offices in
Minneapolis, St. Paul, Hopkins, Duluth, Mankato, Willmar and
Brainerd. There is a fee of $40 per person for this
service. If you are a married couple, and both are filing,
you must both complete the education. Services are available for free based on a client's ability to pay, under the following circumstances: 1) if your attorney is
filing pro bono; or 2) the majority of your income is from
disability, and your family income is no more than 200% of
Federal Poverty Level. In either case, documentation MUST be
provided verifying these criteria in order for the fee to be
waived.*
