Family Based Services

Professional, home-based services focused on improving the health and well being of families and reducing the risk of out of home placement of children.

  • Intensive In-home Treatment is designed to help prevent placement of a child outside the home in residential treatment or foster care. Believing that the family is the best place to resolve family issues, LSS counselors go into family's home two-three times per week to work with both parents and children on solving problems that might otherwise lead to the out-of-home placement of a child.

  • Family Resource Program engages para-professionals to work with families to provide life management and skills training (budgeting, parenting, home management, advocacy, etc.).

  • Family Community Support serves families when a child demonstrates behavior defined as a Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED). In this program, LSS counselors focus on the family's needs as they relate to the child, and more individual time is spent with the children to address their mental health needs. The purpose of these services is to improve or maintain the child's emotional or behavioral functioning.
