Education and Licensure: Susie holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and a Masters in Social Work with a concentration on Program Development, Policy and Administration from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Susie is a registered lobbyist in Minnesota and is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker.

Professional Experience:
Susie joined LSS in 2009 as the Advocacy Manager, supporting the efforts of the LSS Advocacy Office and 2,300 employees statewide to advocate at the Minnesota legislature on behalf of the people they support. In 2013, Susie transitioned into the role of the Director of Advocacy and Volunteer Services, overseeing all of LSS’ advocacy efforts on state and federal levels, and directing the volunteer services for the organization.
Susie’s previous experiences include working in the community as a social worker in multiple capacities with people with disabilities, those experiencing serious and persistent mental illness, traumatic brain injury, older adults and children with significant physical health needs. Susie taught independent living skills, managed waivered services and supervised other social workers.
